The Greatest Gift You Have

full-holy-spirit-windowJohn 16:13 (ESV) 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

You are never alone as a Christ follower. The Holy Spirit is a person and not and “it.” He lives inside of you. The God of all finds a place in your heart and life.

A person is defined as having their own will, emotions, and able also to think, and act upon their thinking.  The Holy is a person, and He lives in you.

The presence of the Holy Spirit in your life is the greatest gift you have. He guides your heart and mind in the will of God when you are submitted to Him. It’s impossible to submit to our own will and to the will of God at the same time. We don’t add God to our lives; we submit our lives to Him.

When your life is fully submitted to the Holy Spirit, in that moment, you are fully human as God intends. Jesus who was 100% man and 100% God submitted completely to the will of the Father. He submitted to the leading of the Holy Spirit at all times. We are called to do no less.

Our call is to do the same as Christ. We are called to submit daily, and yes, even submit moment by moment to the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives. When you cooperate with the Holy Spirit, your life is sanctified, and being sanctified. Victorious Christian living can only happen by submission to the leading and working of the Holy Spirit.

When the Holy Spirit leads you, you are the sons of God, (Romans 8:14) and when the Spirit of God leads us, we are not under the law. (Galatians 5:18)

Ask yourself a few questions today.

How good are you listening and being led by the Holy Spirit?

Are you allowing the Spirit of God to take you deeper into a relationship with God?

Is your heart daily growing thirstier for the righteousness of God to permeate your life?

If you have more room for the working of the Holy Spirit in your life today, I would encourage you to open up the locked doors of your heart you have kept closed to Him. Allow the filling of your whole heart until it overflows beyond your own life and draws others toward the Kingdom of God found only in a relationship with Christ.
