You carry what you don’t lay at the feet of Jesus, and the longer you carry it, the heavier it gets. When you carry something that was meant to be placed at the feet of Jesus, the weight sinks into your heart and the real battle begins. The real battle is the war between the Spirit and the flesh. The bible tells us that the Spirit and flesh are contrary one to the other. Allow me to offer an early hint as to the outcome of NOT placing your troubles at the feet of Jesus… you will lose every time.
Maybe you’re out there today, and something troubling has made its way into your heart, and it’s been there a long time. You feel like you can’t go another day, and bitterness has become your closes friend. You’re restless at night and your days are filled with no peace at all. I just want you to know that the power of choice can set you free.
When I choose to hold onto my trouble I place myself in the position that doesn’t humbly submit to the Lordship of Christ. It’s buying into the lie that I can carry trouble without it damaging my soul. The truth is… neither you, nor I, can handle anything without laying it at His feet. So what’s the answer? Read the following Scripture slow and with your heart.
1 Peter 5:6-7"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God,that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
We need to humble ourselves, and cast all our cares on Him. Never forget, when you cast something, it means you throw it away from yourself. Oh yeah! Don’t forget to cut the line once you cast it on Him. If not, you might just be tempted to reel it back in.
